The purpose of this event is to provide understanding and encourage holistic and integrated thinking about the education system, as well as strengthen coordination among stakeholders in Indonesian education. Meanwhile, these training sessions and workshops will be carried out via two primary interrelated activities:
- Presentation by speakers, including findings from SMERU’s research, and discussing knowledge and policies in the field of education
- Workshop on strengthening systems to support the improvement of education quality in Indonesia
Specifically, this training and workshop will focus on 4 aspects:
- Understanding the complexity of teacher issues in Indonesia today, particularly regarding policies related to teacher education, teacher recruitment, and teacher career path
- Discussing the management and evaluation of teacher performance for more optimal efforts aimed at enhancing teacher competence, which impacts student learning outcomes
- Discussing the role of local governments in contributing to improving teacher quality, supporting teachers in implementing policies from the central government, and ensuring the availability of quality teachers in remote areas
- Discussing best practices or educational policy innovations in regions by both local governments and non-governmental organizations, oriented towards improving access and quality of education
