Obituary

The SMERU Research Institute sadly lost Dr. Joan Hardjono (82 years), a member of Trustees and Advisors of Yayasan SMERU, who passed away in Jakarta on Monday, 13 May 2019.

The Model of Change: SMERU's Recommendation to Assess the Impact of National Infrastructure Development

On 9 May 9 2019 the SMERU Research Institute and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) of Australia conducted an audience visit to Dr. Darmawan Prasodjo, Deputy I of Presidential Chief of Staff, at the Presidential Staff Office (KSP). The SMERU delegation was represented by two researchers from the EINRIP (Eastern Indonesia National Road Improvement Project) study team, Yudi Fajar M. Wahyu and Dinar Dwi Prasetyo, and the Institute secretary, Nuning Akhmadi.

Forum Kajian Pembangunan (FKP) Seminar Series, October 2018

On October 2018, the SMERU Research Institute hosted Forum Kajian Pembangunan (FKP) Seminar Series. FKP is a consortium consisting of various institutions in Indonesia, in collaboration with the Indonesia Project, holds a series of research based policy forums discussing research outcomes related to topical policy issues in Indonesia. These forums were free and open to the public.

Indonesia Jobs Forum

The SMERU Research Institute hosted the 9th Forum on Employment Policy (FKK) on 24 July 2018. Chaired by Mrs. Dra. Rahma Iryanti, M.T (Expert Staff of the Minister of National Development Planning for Social Affairs and Poverty Reduction) and under the topic of structural transformation, the forum presented two resource persons, Dr. Asep Suryahadi (Director of SMERU) and Dr. Zulfan Tadjoeddin (Senior Lecturer of Western Sydney University).
