Village supervision has been an issue that the society highlights following the uncovering of various cases of village budget misappropriation in multiple regions. However, providing a clear scenario for supervising villages has become a challenge after the ratification of Law No. 6 of 2014 on Villages (Village Law). This presentation aims at looking into ideas for, as well as designing, the scenario for effective village supervision, without having to opt for a hunting lens approach. As an introduction, the presentation is based on the results of a longitudinal study on the implementation of Village Law conducted by The SMERU Research Institute with support from Local Solutions to Poverty (LSP)-World Bank since November 2015 in ten villages in Jambi, Central Java, and East Nusa Tenggara.
