About 

Kiki started her career at SMERU as a researcher in 2003. She specializes in qualitative research and has years of experiences in conducting a participatory assessment of poverty, vulnerability, and other social issues. Her research interests include social impact of global financial crisis; food price volatility; and poverty assessments using sustainable livelihood frameworks in various districts and cities in Indonesia.

Much of Kiki’s current research focuses on the field of education as she has joined the RISE Programme in Indonesia as a senior qualitative researcher. Kiki was the research coordinator for studies on the political economy of teacher recruitment and in-service teacher professional development, where she co-authored working papers of the respective studies. She presented the findings of the latter study in front of policymakers at the national and subnational levels. Kiki is also a research adviser for a study that examines the emergence of educational innovations at the district level.

Prior to joining SMERU, Kiki worked as an assistant researcher at the Center of Japanese Studies and at LabSosio (Centre for Sociological Studies), both at University of Indonesia. Kiki is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in the area of social anthropology.
