Michelle is a quantitative researcher at The SMERU Research Institute with a focus on children, women, labor, development studies, and program evaluation. She is skilled in research management and data analysis. Her recent research project examines the COVID-19 pandemic impact on households, children, and women in Indonesia.  

Evaluation studies make up much of Michelle’s work. In 2019, she conducted a baseline study on households and children before a tobacco-growing intervention program for eliminating child labor in East Java and West Nusa Tenggara was carried out. Between 2017 and 2018, she led the quantitative team for three rounds of data collection for a parenting program evaluation in West Java. 

Prior to joining SMERU, Michelle worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Economics and Social Research (LPEM) and Demographic Institute, both located in the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Indonesia.

Currently, Michelle is a master student in Public Policy at School of Government and Public Policy Indonesia.
