About 

Niken is continuing her study at National University of Singapore, Singapore until 2027.

Niken obtained her master’s degree in economics and public policy from Sciences Po Paris and her bachelor’s degree in accounting from Universitas Indonesia. 

Niken is a senior researcher specializing in quantitative methodology. She conducts applied development microeconomic research in the fields of labor market, gender, poverty, digitalization, and micro-, small-, and medium-scale enterprises. Her areas of expertise are impact evaluation of public policy, development of household surveys, and the use of econometrics for policy analysis. She also led the development of longitudinal household survey on poor women’s access to public services as well as other surveys on various topics, such as the well-being of children of migrant parents and the use of digitalization by micro- and small-scale enterprises in times of COVID-19 pandemic.

Prior to joining SMERU, Niken worked as an auditor at the Ernst and Young Indonesia. Her passion in development economics brought her to make a career change as she decided to join Bank Indonesia as a research assistant before pursuing her graduate studies in Paris.
